Financial Literacy month and Credit Education Week Canada- What is your money vision?
By Nancy Jackson, AFCC – Credit Counselling Services of Peterborough
November is Financial Literacy Month, and CCRC will celebrate during Credit Education Week Canada, November 12 – 15th. This year’s theme for the week is a bit of a twist on the very popular Mindfulness theme last year. People shared stories on how they are mindful with their money. Great ideas such as checking bank statements for errors, price matching and even recipes for things like cleaners you can make at home. This year’s theme invites you to expand on mindfulness and create a vision. Everyone can have a money vision. A young child might envision breaking a full piggy bank to buy a new bike. A teen might envision opening their first bank account and depositing their first hard earned paycheck. What about you? Time to think about a vacation? Maybe a new coat or perhaps you have a vehicle vision? You may hope to help a child financially to accomplish a post-secondary graduation. Whatever your vision is, Credit Counselling wants to hear about it. Join in the conversation; How are you saving, Peterborough Style? Enter our contest, visit our display or attend a free workshop.
